DICOMweb
DICOMweb is the collective name for DICOM's RESTful web services — WADO-RS for retrieving, QIDO-RS for querying and STOW-RS for storing — which carry DICOM data over HTTP instead of the traditional DICOM network protocol.
What DICOMweb means in practice
The services do the same jobs as their older counterparts but over ordinary web requests, which is what makes browser-based viewing practical without a plug-in. QIDO-RS corresponds to a query, WADO-RS to a retrieve and STOW-RS to a store. "DICOMweb" is the standard's own shorthand for the set rather than a separate specification.
